Colorado wins another one at home, running their unbeaten streak to 6 games. Their challengers tonight were the rapidly falling Sporting Kansas City, who seem to be collapsing during each match. It’s been six matches since KC has garnered more than a single point and the weight of that streak seems to be sitting heavily on their shoulders.
Colorado, on the other hand, is riding high since the addition of he that shall not be named, much the chagrin of this writer. With a goal by late sub Dillon Serna in the 77th minute, Colorado put three points between them and second place FC Dallas. Serna has played his way up the ranks of the age bracketed USMNT teams. Now three years into his MLS career, he’s made an appearance in every match played by the Rapids and he’s contributing. This on a team heavily relying on the one to score in bunches.
The title of this piece is a quote from Colorado Rapids Coach Pablo Mastroeni after the match. And he’s right, honestly. A win is three points, a draw is one, and a loss, nothing.
